PACE® Scholarship
Vermont Paralegal Organization PACE Scholarship
The Vermont Paralegal Organization (“VPO”) proudly announces that it is prepared to award the second annual PACE Scholarship in 2011.
Applications for the VPO PACE Scholarship are currently being accepted. One scholarship will be awarded annually in the amount of $250. The criteria for this scholarship are:
1. Applicants must be a voting member of the VPO.
2. Applicants must be PACE-eligible, meeting educational and experience requirements, at the time of the application.
3. Applicants will be required to submit a written application.
4. The scholarship recipient will have one (1) year to utilize this scholarship.
5. Failure to utilize this scholarship within the one (1) year from date of award will forfeit all rights to this scholarship.
6. In the event that scholarship award winner does not either (a) use the scholarship in the one (1) year time frame for any reason, or (b) does not notify the PACE Ambassador within nine (9) months of receiving the scholarship of the inability to use the scholarship for any reason, that person shall be ineligible to reapply for the award.
7. All scholarship funds will be paid directly to NFPA with no scholarship proceeds paid directly to the scholarship recipient, except for reimbursement.
8. Scholarship proceeds may be used to pay for the PACE Study Manual, the PACE Applicant’s Handbook and Application, the PACE examination fee, the PACE online mock examination, and/or the NFPA® AIPS Online Review Course.
9. All scholarship proceeds not used by the scholarship recipient within the one (1) year from date of award, will be available for reallocation to another VPO PACE Scholarship applicant.
10. Consideration in the selection process include:
- Applicant’s goals and desires for taking/passing PACE;
- Participation in paralegal association activities;
- Participation in community activities, volunteerism, etc.;
- Activities which promote the vocation of paralegals and paralegal education.
11. One applicant will be selected annually based on a majority vote of the PACE Selection Committee.
Applications must be submitted to Corinne M. Deering, RP®, VPO PACE Ambassador by April 15, 2011.
