I am a paralegal at Sheehey Furlong & Behm, P.C., in Burlington, Vermont, where I work in the areas of criminal and civil litigation.  I have over ten years of legal experience, and in addition to litigation, have worked in immigration, third-party insurance administration/insurance claims, and trust and estate planning and administration.  I received my Bachelor's of Science in Paralegal Studies/Pre-Law from Rivier College's ABA Accredited Paralegal Program.  I am currently serving my first term as Board President, and will soon be the Interim Newsletter Editor, a VPO position in which I previously served for six years.  In addition to Board President, I am the CLE Committee Chair and Scholarship Committee Chair.

As President, it is my goal to bring the VPO to the forefront in the legal community, both in Vermont and beyond, by increasing the visibility of the VPO through participation of our members in pro bono and other CLE activities.  In addition, I will continue the efforts of the VPO to forge a strong partnership with the VBA in order to streamline our groups' joint educational goals, and continue the growth of the paralegal professional as an integral part of the legal field.

As Scholarship Chair, my role is to coordinate our Scholarship Committee (which consists of two VPO members and three Non-VPO members) with VSAC to award our annual $500 scholarship.  Any current or potential paralegal student who is interested in applying should contact me.

As Continuing Education Committee Chair, I am charged with providing continuing legal education opportunities for the VPO membership, including but not limited to seminars and training workshops sponsored by the VPO or other legal education providers.

As Sponsorship Committee Chair, it is my goal to solicit and recruit partnerships with corporate and educational sponsors in order to provide educational and professional opportunities for VPO members.
